HRA Confidentiality Advisory Group full support for PRANA

PRANA applied to the Health Research Authority to obtain support for non-research and research processing of confidential patient information without consent. This application was achieved under Regulation 5 of the Health Service (Control of Patient Information) Regulations 2002 (’section 251 support’).

After consideration by the HRA Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG), the HRA provided full support for PRANA from March 5th 2024. This support provides a lawful basis for PRANA to collect specific information without incurring a breach of the common law duty of confidence.

This permission must be reapplied for annually.
